Great memories there Eel! you might see one just a tad better next year or one day, i hope so! Yes, that Fall River country has about all a outdoor guy could want. If it wasn't in Calif, nobody i know could afford to live there, it's that nice.
Most of my memories of that country are drifting fall river with a buddy, small PMD's fished dry on 7X tippet after big trout. We'd anchor above big pods of rising fish, try to pick out the best of them, and let our slack lines drift down for their inspection.
If the fishing ever cooled down, one couldn't help but see the semi open country on the mountains close by and wonder just how big are the muley's they held. Good sized groups of ducks and geese were continually getting up and setting back down in what must have been a good sized swamp area just north of where we fished. Nice country, real nice!
