That is a great buck. Isnt that the same buck that was in Trophy Hunter a couple years ago? I remember the guys face for sure. If I remember right, the guy was hunting w/his dad too. He's taken several nice bucks just like this one also. But it's definately a buck of a life time or two.
From what I remember about this deer it was shot on the morning of Oct. 5'th. The first day of the season after more than 50 days of serious scouting on public land during a controlled hunt. This was the guys second choice, he was after a big typical and ran into this guy first. I guess when you actually do some real scouting you can have those kind of choices.
The deer was aged at 9 years old and it was over 280 pounds and it had ivories in it's mouth. The skull on it was nearly twice as big as an average buck. Kinda like comparing Alan Iverson to Shaq.
You got it Drum, its Robert Arledge. I was in a NR hunter ed class a few years back and Robert and his dad Jerry were there also. A couple real nice guys. It was right after he killed that big buck and we got to chattin about it. Pretty cool.
I would have been happy to take care of your medical bill, but for some reason the pictures I posted couldn't be seen. nripepi posted the visible picture, so the liability falls on him. Sorry.
Yes, it is Robert Arledge's 1997 monster, currently #4 in Idaho.
Just WOW. I also remember this buck, but am glad you posted his picture. That really is the stuff my dreams are made of. I am not a typical guy, so bring me one like this guy. The guy looks to me like his arms are tired from holding that rack for the picture. What a tough job.
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!! I see bucks like that all the time, every night in my dreams. LOL! That is one freakin' huge buck. There is a pic of it in the 11th edition of the B&C Record Book. The black and white photo certainly doesn't do it justice. It's awesome to see a pic of it in colour. Thanks for sharing the pic with us.
Bobcat, I figured as much from you, stirring it up a bit........LOL...........I would love to shoot this trashy monster.........its bigger then a dream buck...... Allen Taylor......
