Nice Buck for sure. Based on what the pictures show I would put the mount at a 7 out of 10. I like the bunched skin at the base of the neck, and the front edge of each fore leg showing. I can't see the eyes, ears, horn bases, tear ducts very good to really make a fair judgement. The tear ducts look flat. I would expect them to be fully tucked in without being able to see the internal bottom. The nostril's are filled with putty, and again I would expect them to be fully installed, I have to look with a flashlight to see the back of the tear and nostrils on my mounts. For me having stuff fully done really makes the mount more lifelife. The front teeth showing was intended as they were obvsiously put in. If you wanted that for a reason then fine. The throat patch area looks flatter and cupped in then I have seen on both live deer and mounts, but again that may be something specific to your deer and desires. I have mine mounted in as close to the position natural appearence I shot them in. I have one with a pretty messed up cape due to all the fighting and abuse for the year. Guys say things about how messed up the cape looks, but that is exactly the way I wanted it.
I would agree with the direct heat issue. Normal heat is fine, but super close to a fire or heater outlet is not the best thing for a mound.
