Hi Guys,
I've spend the last 4-5 weekends up in the Wasatch unit scouting and preparing for my muzzle loader hunt. This year is going to be a challenging hunt for me since I have never hunted elk, never hunted with a muzzle loader, and am not terribly familiar with elk behavior.
Since I have been up there, I have heard very little bugling. This last Friday/Saturday I heard maybe 4 from 6pm on Friday into Saturday around noon. I expected to hear a bit more than that. I've also heard lots of people say that bugling started pretty early this year. Based on what you guys have heard and seen, what do you think I can expect for rutting activity next week? The hunt starts on Wednesday of next week and of course I'm getting nervous that I may not be getting much of the rut during my hunt.
Thanks,
-Travis
