A question for all of you food plotters, concerning weeds, when you plant to you let you plot establish and then kill weeds or kill weeds before you plant? Also what do you use to kill the weeds and not the crop? Thanks FOr all your help!

The easiest way to establish new or 1st time food plots is to spray them in the Spring, Mid-Summer and one last time two weeks before planting. In addition, it is also the least expensive way to establish a food plot also. Once you have all the weeds killed, you will want to create a consistent seed bed to broadcast your fine seed. Although not necessary, it is highly recommended to fertilize, even if it's just a little to kick-start your food plot. Again, I can't say it enough, your life will be much easier if you take the time, at least two or three times, to spray the area ahead of time before you try to plant your food plot.

Thanks for the reply! Another question! Can i use just any weed killer? And how long until intiall planting after weed killer application? Thanks for your reply!
