Not even sworn in yet and conservatards are bashing his " fabulous " deals. it's only going to get better and everyone knows it even Palin.

Dude the "conservatards" that are bashing Trump are the idiot ones that he passed over to select for his cabinet. Even you have to agree that 'I CAN SEE RUSSIA FROM MY HOME" Palin is one of the less intelligent ones.

offering tax breaks to companies is not picking winners and losers IMO, as long as it's offered to all. That's how the government creates jobs, not by taxing and regulating companies out of business or forcing them out of the Country. That does however create more people dependent on government which is perfectly fine with Democrats.

The term "offering a tax break" is actually a misconception. It implies that the government owned the money to begin with and they're allowing some peon the privilege of working for the government.

If Obama had cut a deal like this with Carrier the conservatards would be coming unglued. and you know it.

Palin was a goddess earlier , now she's a bimbo? you people are quick to eat your own. now Ann Coulter is calling Trump a sell out for backing off his wall promise, she a bimbo too? the Trump whitehouse will be a house of cards brought down by lies and unfulfilled promises.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-03-16 AT 02:25PM (MST)[p]TOG just keeps proving he doesn't get off the farm much.. The auto companies got tax incentives to build foreign cars here and it been a success with thousands and thousands of current jobs in several states more than a decade later in some instances. Walmart gets more tax incentives than just about any company on earth and it results in thousands of jobs. TOG since you're not smart enough to compete with JR Simplot who gets tax incentives and employs hundreds maybe you should think before you type.

How is it Cuomo in NY State is doing that exact same thing and he's right and Trumps wrong? Besides didn't Cuomo borrow a few things from the GOP handbook....to steal jobs from other states? If it was such a bad idea why are the NY Dems doing it and touting how successful it is?

Togs not smart enough to realize that Palin's comments only causes the press to write about what Trump did giving him more coverage on the jobs he created once again.....

When the press is focused on negatives you can can easily exploit them by giving them what they want.......in the end they report on Trump giving him more ink and exposure in fulfilling his campaign promises...... See what happens when you think small TOG........LOL

The Dems in New York did what the Dems in CA. did. They regulated and taxed business right out of the state to other states.
Unlike CA. the Dems in New York wised up and used a GOP plan of bringing back business and jobs. They offered better and lower taxes to any business that would move there and less restrictive regulations. Of course they do not like admitting they offered lower taxes to business in order to create more jobs for their citizens. Heaven forbid that since they like to ping the GOP for advocating the same thing all along.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-03-16 AT 04:28PM (MST)[p]I admire and adore Shania Palin, what's more I think she's smart as a whip. Her voice drives me crazy but I can over look that, nobodies perfect....... expect some of us ole MM arm chair philo-soft-iphers.

She has a valid point, and much of what she said in that article was spot on and T's right, if "they"(the Demo-ists) did it, I'd be pissing an moaning worse than T is, but............. "they" didn't do it, we did, so, I'm good with it. More than that, I'm damn good with it.

Why?

Because Trump and Obama have completely different objectives and outcomes in mind when they "make these calls". Had Obama done it, it would have been a part of bigger plan to accomplish a more socialist leaning movement. When Trump does it, it's to restore a more capitalist movement. Two chess player often make the same move but their following moves are different, so you can't judge a single movement or two or even three, in a system of processes, and assume that the ultimate moves and decisions will be the same and the long term results will be the same.

As much as I like Palin, I would give her the same suggestion I would give Cruz, Romney, or any Republi-can't. "GET OFF YOUR GAWD DAMN RUGGED INDIVIDUALISTIC HIGH HORSE, AND START WORKING TOGETHER FOR A CHANGE. THIS IS A TEAM AND WE HAVE TO GIVE AND TAKE AND PULL TOGETHER, OR THE UNITED CONFORMISTS, THAT NEVER "EAT THEIR OWN, (BE THEY RIGHT OR WRONG) ARE GOING TO KICK YOUR A$$ES......AGAIN.

Bahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, u are such a an idiot. I have been watching your leftist drive for months. I hope Trump taxes you so bad, you do not give to society at all. Do you got a business, you employ people Mr. investor. You invest and make money and you should be taxed so bad that u can never hunt again on my hard earned ass. Trump is Pres. now, so go hunt public land, which I hope you are taxed so bad, you move to mexico. You are the folks who screwed hunting for the folks who use it for the traditional way. In fact, I'll call you out as being a rich ass never hunter, who bought himself into a today's hunting life cause you had to find a way that you can call yourself a man. BAHhahahahahaha.

You have to understand that protectionism raises prices. and the same white trash that elected Trump shops at Walmart , do the math. it ain't pretty.

Trump says he will impose a 35% tax on companies who leave the US and import products. sounds great if you don't think about it. will this include Carrier who's still moving 1100 jobs after " the deal " to save 800 ? or do they get an orange man exemption because they played the game?

I have always preached buy American and I live by it whenever possible. but it has to be a choice not a law, we are either free market capitalists or we are not. make up your phuking little minds.

Stay Thirsty My Friends

LAST EDITED ON Dec-04-16 AT 02:55PM (MST)[p]My little mind's made up Boss, just do not need it to happen over night. Nor does it all need to happen in the order you or I want. Nor can you or I go from very little American made, at the flip of switch, to full throttle American made, so we trashy white folks will continue to shop at Walmart, more or less, depending on other options and a new found or not, American made, manufacturing progress.

Protectionism, like socialism and capitalism and most other isms, including most religion-isms, are not all or nothing, they are all degrees of the same, so............. "appropriate protectionism", can be blended with lesser degrees of a free market, rather than a 100% free market, and it will produce a different result than an "all or nothing" adaptation of either. Same with most isms. Not every degree of socialism is as misguided as total socialism. Same for capitalism.

You get the idea.

When we speak these terms, as if all these issues are "absolutes", and therefore only can have "positive or negative" outcomes, it makes for great debating points but rarely, in life, is anything as "absolute" as "hard liners" from either side would have us believe.

The Art of the Deal, is in my opinion, better titled "The Art of a Negotiation". Negotiation, when practiced as purely as it's definition, is a stunningly successful way to problem solve, in as much as solutions are developed where both parties are satisfied with the outcome, that is, they are satisfied enough to look forward to problem solving (ie; doing business) again, ......... because both parties have had a beneficial/positive attitude about the last effort.

Negotiation: is a dialogue between two or more people or parties intended to reach a beneficial outcome over one or more issues where a conflict exists with respect to at least one of these issues.

A negotiator, that fails to "do a deal" where both parties are not satisfied, is a problem maker, not a problem solver. Trump apparently has either naturally or has developed positive negotiating skills. As angry or disappointed as some folks may be, that he, with his skills, has been elected, does not alter the fact that he isn't, yet, going to lay down and give up. So far, no one has convinced him, "he can't". I suspect, therefore, he will continue to, do what he does. A whole lot of folks are apparently going to try to prevent him from rebuilding America, or at least his "version of what America was or should be".

So......we're going to get a few years to see if "someone else" gets "something" done. Won't be the simple flipping of a switch! I know you will most likely still feel the need to remind us how slow and backward it's going but..... our expectations are different, so we're kind of like two dogs, facing opposite directions and mindless barking at each other, both wondering why the other doesn't just put a sock in it. :)

Have a pleasant afternoon T. As I've said repeatedly, and preached back at ya, hope your life continues to improve and prosper, hope mine does as well....... never, ever have resented another man's good fortune.

There is no way to determine what the " appropriate " level of protectionism is. that depends on who's getting screwed. that's why croney capitalism has always been a no no to fiscal conservatives. but Trump being the NY liberal he is has decided to get in bed with the unions. while it did get him elected it could have disasterous consequences.

The orange glow is still new, it will wear off and you'll see the truth.

So when you screw with the imports you screw with he exporters. in this case I'm an exporter to the importers Trump is playing god to. Ag will suffer, are you going to piss and mon when subsidies have to come back because you've screwed us out of a market? yes you will I have no doubt.

Like I said buying American is the right thing to do and good americans do it. but it should be a choice based on your desire for quality and your pocketbook.

On that, how many of you hypocrites drive a rice grinder and buy chink optics ? I admit I have some Swarovski but I have mostly Leopold and there isn't a anything but American vehicles in the 26 I have registered to me. if you can't say the same STFU.

T, T, T. For some of us, it's more than cash, even our own. I know, I know, "its always the economy", "Trump ran and won entirely on jobs, which are money issues", "follow the money", "they'll vote their pocket book", "Money, money, money, everything is about money."

Sorry, T while I certainly don't want to go broke or want you to, or anyone else, but short of a national financial collapse, I, "seem to" (don't know for sure but it "seems" like it) me like I am concerned about a broader spectrum of issues than just the economy and my personal wealth or lack there of. As you' re said, "you'd be just fine, if you never work another day", or something like that. So I think maybe you just enjoy raising hell with us wingnuts, way more than you really give a dang about your Ag revenue +/-, or my Ag related costs +/-.

Never purchased an Off Shore vehicle, unless you consider my garden tiller (a Honda) a vehicle. But............... I may. Like you say, American's should get to choice and not have the decision decided for them.

I won't pay what Swarovski's needs/wants for the last 3 minutes and the first 3 minutes of light, can't justify the pain for the gain............. but my son's do. Frivolous, in my opinion but then we disagree on other more significant things than the last ray of light. However, did I mention, I've never resent another man's good fortune. I'm happy for my sons, and for you.

I'm gonna, give you the forum, for a while, maybe another 50 days or so. We'll most likely never agree on what's appropriate, who's getting serviced, what Trump is or isn't doing, etc. Regardless, whether now, in 50 days, or 50 years, we'll just be making arguments to support our own bias, like a couple of long tailed dogs spinning circles in the pasture.

Later T.

Lumpy you're correct on most counts there. this is an entertainment forum.

But on the Swarovski's you have to remember some of it is because Leupold doesn't offer a comparable product. and of course there is the prestige of owning the best I'm not above that sot of thing. Bobcat just bought some import chit because it was cheap he didn't care where it came from. that's more typical of American consumers. Trump won't change that he'll just up bobcat's cost. let's see if bobcat figures it out.

I agree with you Trump won on jobs as much as the white power vote. and those 80,000 votes who gave him the electoral votes of PA, WI and MI were union voters he promised more jobs and better wages to. do the math on what that will do to prices of their goods if he delivers. I'm not anti-union but I think they're making enough as it is.

One last thing, how did Trump win on jobs when unemployment is at 4.6 % ? that shows what stupid malcontents American voters are. we should assume it will make it a breeze for Mark Cuban to kick Trump's azz when unemployment is 9% in 4 years right? let's hope so.

Stay Thirsty My Friends

Those numbers are twisted on unemployment since you forgot to add those that gave up looking for work.

The numbers are what they are. did they do it different for Bush and will hey do it different for Trump?

The number seems high for around here, if you have a pulse you can have a job this afternoon. the only people who aren't working are deadbeats who aren't going to work. that number is 4.6% today.

Dude how many times do we have to tell you that Obama does not figure in the first year of him being in office. If he did he would have to admit that he still lost over 300,000 jobs. Instead he does his figuring 13 months after he took office so the figures look better to the public. They are not counting those 300,000 for jobs lost and un-employment.

RELH

You think Obama sets these numbers? that's funny. it would be zero if that were the case.

February 2009 total employment: 133,350,000
February 2010 total employment: 129,733,000

Total jobs lost would be 3,617,000 for his first year.

February 2009 total employment: 133,350,000
November 2016 total employment: 145,123,000

Looks like even with new math today employment is 11,773,000 higher then when he took over.

The argument isn't that Obama was great or that he will leave a legacy, it is that we are in a better place in our economy todays then we were on January 20th, 2009. If anyone were actually serious about the ballooning debt, sure they could get it going the other way. The poor would have to get slightly less, the rich give up slightly more and the middle would continue to get hosed and in a generation the debt would be gone. Nobody wants to feel the pain now so they punt. Doesn't matter which party, they are both addicted to debt.

It the crack of politics.

With unemployment at around 4%, where is the labor coming from for all the jobs Trump is promising?

or we could raise the retirement age to 82 and still pay for social security and that would be used to pay off the debt.

Took this from the Republican Party's 2016 Platform:

Crony Capitalism and Corporate Welfare

Cronyism is inherent in the progressive vision
of the administrative state. When government
uses taxpayer funding and resources to give
special advantages to private companies, it
distorts the free market and erodes public trust
in our political system
. By enlarging the scope of
government and placing enormous power in the
hands of bureaucrats, it multiplies opportunities
for corruption and favoritism. It is the enemy of
reform in education, the workplace, and healthcare.
It gives us financial regulation that protects the
large at the cost of the small. It is inherent in every
part of the current healthcare law, which is packed
with corporate welfare. Crony capitalism gives
us special interest tax breaks, custom-designed
regulations, and special exemptions for favored
parties. The Solyndra debacle is a perfect example.
It creates both subsidies and restrictions to tilt the
market one way or the other. By putting the weight
of government behind the status quo, it leads to
economic stagnation
. We applaud the Republican
