Colorado Unit 66 Archery Elk Uncompahgre Forest

I was drawn for Colorado Unit 66 Archery Elk. I was wondering if any of you are familiar with Uncompahgre National Forest. My plan after going between OnX and Google Earth is to start off at Nellie's Creek Trail Head and head on in. Is anyone on here familiar with that area at all? I would love to pick your brain if at all possible.
