Colorado Units 52, 521, 411

Getting ready to put in an application for the second hunt in this unit. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on if I could find a decent buck in these units, looks like I could draw for deer. The success rates look pretty good. Between the three units seems like you have options of hunting any type of terrain. I am not looking for any info on where to hunt, although anyone who offers info will be appreciated. Just want to know if shooting a mature buck is reasonable. I am not counting on shooting a 200 incher, I am willing to hike in, and will hunt hard. This is the first time in a couple years I can afford to hunt out of state.

There are definitely big bucks in those units. Like other units in Western Colorado, a few really big bucks get shot by the guys that hunt hard and/or get lucky.

There are some VERY nice bucks in those units. Amazing, since it's not 21 or 61. My family hunts 52 and every year I see some studs come from there. Good luck this year.

In '08 after the 'big' winterkill we burned 5 points to hunt unit 53 next door and were having a hell of a time. On day 4 we were in town filling up with gas and 3 guys pulled up next to us. They had filled their tags with nice bucks including one ~185" and a bonus raghorn elk. We ate our tags in the 'primo' unit.
