Coues Deer

Just wondering everyone's thoughts on the best place in the usa to hunt coues deer. Trying to get a decent representation of each deer species. Willing to pay a trespass fee if needed but want a do it yourself hunt.

There are only three locations that have Coues Deer; old Mexico, New Mexico, and Arizona. If you want to ?do it yourself?, then Mexico is not an option. That leaves New Mexico and Arizona. Check both state?s regulations and notice the amount of tags available and hunt dates. That should tell you which state is the better option of the two.

IMO, AZ would be your best option for a DIY hunt.

Arizona would be my recommendation. Hunted there twice with my dad in the 90's. Decent bucks, rugged country, & a lot of glassing to find those "grey ghosts."

Anywhere in Arizona. Rifle tags you can draw every year. Nice place. Headed back for my second hunt soon.
