Cow elk tags

Can anyone suggest/ recommend anywhere in south western/south central Utah where I could get a few cow elk tags. Friend of mine should draw an early 12AW AZ deer tag. My daughter will be along to help also. I would like to take her on a cow elk hunt after we finish the deer hunt. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please PM me any information.

You’re a little late on that idea. Utah doesn’t generally offer OTC antlerless opportunities for public lands. It’s all through a draw system. There are OTC for private lands antlerless elk, but you’re gonna need a hook up for private land and that’s not going to come cheap.

Many places have depredation tags they sell as well. I don’t have any specific recommendation, but you may be able to search some out online for the areas you’re hoping for. They won’t be cheap though.

The majority of private land owners are good. But ask questions about an area and the actual private land use during your hunt.

Had a buddy think a $400 trespass fee was cheap to hunt and that he could get a elk off the land but the dates of the trespass were January and it was higher elevation. Needless to say it was a tough hunt and my buddy never could get a shot off.
