Crane Hunt Dec 10th-11th

Good Morning,

My brother in law and I drew a couple of crane permits for the Middle Rio Grande Valley Dec 10 and 11th. Was wondering if any one went on the earlier hunt a couple of weeks ago? Trying to gather as much info as possible. Plan on taking a drive a couple of days before the hunt. Any tips or help would be appreciated. First time on this hunt.

97 crane were processed at the check station on day 1 of that hunt .How day 2 went IDK, but plenty of shooting for sure on day 1...Best of luck to you.

Wow, that's quite a bit of birds. Would you happen to know where most of the birds were found? Please PM if you'd prefer. I will definitely pass on any info to help other's on the later hunts. Thank you.

Did you get a letter from NMGF saying they had a list of potential landowners?

They gave me a number to call and a contact. I’ve called twice and left a message both times but no one has returned my call.

Just go in the afternoon on the ditch behind Bernardo from about 4:30pm to dark. You will have flights of 10 to 20 nonstop. Last two times it was a ten minute hunt for me.
