It is hot and dry over there, lots of rattlesnakes down lower. There are some good bucks and bulls in unit 22, but they can be scattered this time of the year. Get up as high as you can, and you will find some game. Take pictures, and good luck!
Thanks guys . There is several nice basins in the north west corner that look promising .The southern section looks like it has a large roadless area as well .How is access ? I usually hike in aways so I am hoping to get to know some trail systems . A friend of mine has been doing well not to far from there .Rather than step on his toes I thought I would get to know another section as the animals cover alot of terrain and us bipeds are quite limited.
I was up there 3 years ago and if it wasnt for my dog i'd have been bit by a rattle snake climbimg through the rocks. saw lots of game sign, a wolf track (confirmed by Council F&G) and some real pretty country south of the two man made resevoirs on top of Cuddy. It is one hell of a road getting up there though.
