I do not think there will be a debate due to Chris Wallace being the moderator. He will ask hard questions of both candidates and Biden's handlers are fearful of that. There is no way Biden can handle any questions requiring a complex answer. I would not be surprised that Biden comes down being tested positive for Covid-19 and that will be the excuse to skip any debate.
It would also give them a chance to ding Trump over his handling of the Covid-19 crisis.
