JB;

Somehow I think Bess would save that Mountain Howitzer loaded with the cannister shot for use on ATVs that tresspass into his hunting area.

"THE BUCK WAS HIT 6 TIMES WITH VERY LITTLE MEAT DAMAGE"!!!

I'M CALLING BULLSSHIT ON THAT ONE!!!

IF THESE TARDS HAD WEAPONS LIKE THAT THEY COULD FILL THEIR WHOLE FAMILYS PERMITS WITH ONE SHOT & MAYBE HAVE A FEW EXTRAS LAYING AROUND!!!

LIKE RELH SAID!!!

IF I HAD A TUNE-UP TOOL LIKE THAT!!!

I COULD GET ME A PISTON,COUPLE TIRES,A DIFFERENTIAL OR TWO,A GAS TANK AND A TRANSMISSION ALL IN ONE SHOT!!!

"I'M NOT COMPLAINING,I'M TELLING IT THE WAY IT IS,SOME OF YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT,THATS O.K.,SOMETIMES THE TRUTH HURTS & YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT IT,OR YOU FIND OUT WHAT THE FACTS ARE,STAND UP & VOICE YOUR OWN OPINION,THIS IS STILL AMERICA THE LAST TIME I CHECKED"!!!

RE: deer hunt with a howitzer

Now that is cool---my next years winter project...won't use it on deer but I'll use it on the yotes down at the ranch....Hell I got lots of. 50 cal balls to make cannister shot for it.

John C. Fremont drug one of those things around on his survey expeditions of the west back in the 1840's and finally had to abandoned it in the Sierras around Lake Tahoe. I looked around that thing along with many others and to this day its never been found.

Knew a guy that made a rifled cannon that shot a beercan filled with cement and at 500 yds could hit a 5 gal propane bottle every shot after it was dialed in--it was a HOOT!

Bulk Blackpowder is going to be the ##### to get.

RE: deer hunt with a howitzer

5. When an unsuspecting deer happens to wander in front of your Mountain Howitzer Cannon, PULL THE CORD! Make sure that the deer is within 250 yards range and directly in-line with the howitzer's bore. Also be sure the deer is no closer than 100 yards. A minimum distance of 100 yards is a "must" for reasonable meat recovery. ( less damage ) You don't want to hit the deer with all 148 musket balls. ( your goal is to shoot the deer with your mountain howitzer, not "pulverize" him ) Also, at extended distances, it will be less likely that you will shoot off the horns if the deer is a really nice Buck.

Something tells me that this guy isn't in it for reasonable meat recovery. Or maybe his definition of reasonable is different than mine.

?Here?s to the hero's that Git-R-Done!!?

RE: deer hunt with a howitzer

This is the reason there are so many rules and regulations regarding hunting.

--I'm looking for a man... who calls himself Bucho! That's all! And you had to do it, the hard way!--
