'DISC SPACE' HELP PLEASE???

I CLICK ON MY INCOMING E-MAIL & I CAN'T GET IT,A POP-UP POPS UP AND SAYS: "THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DISC SPACE"!!!

THE FIRST TIME IT POPPED UP IT WENT INTO AN "AUTO-DELETE FILES" AND WIPED MY INBOX COMPLETELY OUT!!!

I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT $HIT!!!

ANYWAY,WHEN I CLICK ON MY E-MAIL TO RECEIVE MAIL IT STARTS RECEIVING FOR ABOUT A MINUTE & THE "THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DISC SPACE" POPS UP & I'M DONE!!!

JUST WONDERING IF OutDoorWriter OR ANYBODY KNOWS HOW I'D GO ABOUT FIXING THIS???

WHEN I HAD THIS POS BUILT A COUPLE A YEARS AGO I ASKED THE GEEK/NERD HOW LONG I COULD RUN THIS PUTER BEFORE FILLING IT UP???

HE SAID I WOULDN'T LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO FILL THE DISC UP,WTF???

ANY WAY TO GAIN DISC SPACE???

Well everyone knows that using Upper Case letters all the time uses up disk space at 10x the normal rate... but thats beside the point.

Quick fix: Open your internet browser, go into the Tools\Options\settings and delete all your temporary internet files. That should free up enough space to access your inbox. If you have a CD or DVD burner start burning copies of rarely accessed files and then delete them.

You should look into a new harddrive, either as a secondary or just get a huge one and clone your existing HD onto it. I dont know if you have an EIDE or SATA drive interface without knowing more about your computer... but you can get a 750gig HD for under $100... and unless you are DLing gobs of porn, tv shows, pirated movies or home movies, you shouldnt fill that up very easily.

you take it out about 100 yards put a target it. sight in all your rifles then dump that machine gun into it. then take a sledge hammer beet it into the ground then bury the damn thing you will feel much better , then go get a new one and have fun show it the last one and remind it that any of the same problumns this will be the end result should last a couple years then

You're screwed man. Unless you hire someone to come over there and fix it. I charge 60 bucks an hour, 50 for friends. So you'd be $75 plus expenses/travel.

I'm gonna guess your HD isn't as full as it thinks it is. Unless you download tons of stuff like DallanC says you shouldn't fill a good sized hard drive. I bet whatever it has virus-wise is filling the HD with gobbledy gook. Maybe.

One word of caution. Before you start copying files to a Cd burner and deleting, think about what you are copying and deleting. Music, movies, pictures, word docs, etc are fair game. Stuff in "MY Documents" is all yours. Don't delete something that you don't know what it is. Don't just delete programs. Uninstall them by using their uninstall or control panel but don't just delete stuff unless you know what you are doing. If you just delete programs without uninstalling sometimes you get more trouble because of registry entries etc and often times won't help a darn thing. As for temporary internet files (aka porn) I don't know anything about Firefox but some one here can help you find them I'm sure. It's still the fastest place to start.

try hijackthis, it is a really good utility for finding and removing nasty stuff from a computer. I have used is several times to remove virus from my computers. This site has a download link right to Trendsecure for the program and has a los of usefull info for reading the log file.
