Dolores area

Hey guys, I have an opportunity to move to Dolores and I have never been there, just wanted to know some input on the area like how the deer,elk,ext hunting was around there or any other info?

Lots of game and lots of hunters. You can certainly find some critters if you get away from roads. Some beautiful country. I have a cabin site north of there. I looked all over Colorado and ended up choosing that area. And the circuit of Dolores, Rico, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Durango has lots to do and see. Cost of living in/around Dolores will be lower than the other towns I mentioned, so IMO would be a great place to live.

It's in Colorado, I would move in a heartbeat.

We hunt out of Dolores every year for elk. Love the area would move there if I didn't have such a good job here. Dolores has fallen on tough times over the years with fewer and fewer stores, etc. open. Cortez, just down the road, seems to be plugging along. If your opportunity to move there comes with a good job, go for it. If you are going to be looking for a good job once you get there, that might be tough.
