Hey all..... been a while since I posted in the Colorado thread. I have a couple younger buddies who invited me to join them in applying for an archery elk tag in these units. I have been around Rabbit Ears pass for the last several years. I am slowing down and almost 70 and just wondering before I research topo maps and public land ... just how rough these units are topo wise and how much public land they have? Even how hard to draw an archery tag? I'll research thru the DOW webb site but thought I'd ask if anyone wants to chime in . Thanks !

I have some experience with 81. Terrain wise it is your basic Colorado. Not extreme but not totally flat either. As far as hunting, I think it has been over hunted and you will see more orange than animals. But I have only hunted it with rifle . I would not spend non res $ to hunt it.
