I am looking for information about landowners or foundations that donate hunts for terminally ill children in utah. If anyone can give me some direction in my search I would really appreciate it.
Get in contact with the state chapter of Hunt Of A Lifetime. It is like Make A Wish, but Make A Wish will not do hunt for any animal for terminally ill children (they got several threats a few years back and I think the kid that requested the wish for a brown bear hunt him and his family was sent death threats). So this mother started a crusade for terminally ll children whose final wish is to go on the Hunt Of A Lifetime. Just google up the organization, I have looked at it several times. They ask what type of hunt the child wants, where they want to hunt, any special medical issues that needs to have a nurse in camp for, and a host of other questions. I hope I was able to help.

For anyone that is curious as to why I am looking for this info.
This is my cousins son. We tried to get his tag filled during the archery season with no luck and i know he really wanted to shoot a deer with his dad. I am not sure if he is even ok to go out right now with chemo treatments, but I figured it was worth a shot to see what is out there.
LAST EDITED ON Oct-20-11 AT 09:28PM (MST)[p]Life is a bi$ch... I am a broke masters student, but know if I had any way of helping him experience the hunt of a lifetime, I would do it. And, thanks to those of you that are able to help him out. You guys are great people. Please let us know how it works out and post up pictures of his hunt.
Super Uncle,
Hope you got the invitation on your PM,s. We would love to help in southern Utah. We have about 2600 acres of prime hunting. It's quakies, pines, oak. Weather is going to be perfect. We will provide everything.
I was at the ranch last Thursday and saw numerous nice bucks. It would be an honor to help this young man and his dad (and you're invited too!!) Let me know how we can help.
Max 1, you're the man. To those of you who have so quickly and generously stepped up to the plate - you're awesome! I hope this works out for the young man - both the hunt and beating cancer.
I am the father of this boy, and I just want to say thank you for all the positive response's Yes this is a long hard battle but we will make it through. His tag is for the central area. we were down for 3 days for the muzzle loader hunt but no luck. He has been hunting with me for 8 years and It sure would be awesome if I could find him a deer to shoot. THANK YOU cousin.
So many great people on this site! I have had family with Cancer and none this age but at the same time it's always hard no matter the circumstance! I wish I had something to offer, If he needs boots or anything little that would help for the hunt i am more than willing to do what i can! I hope this boy bags a buck of a lifetime and it's a memory that will last for a lifetime!
Very proud of my fellow hunters because they always have the biggest hearts out ther! +1000 for everybody offering!
I know Nebraska is a ways away but I will gladly buy him the Tag and I have great access that I'm sure we could get him a buck. If I can help P.M me. I can also set up a place to stay. Rifle season is November 14th to November 23rd.
Cant help you out on the hunting part but do part time taxi work and would love to do a shoulder mount for him for free? Let me know if you guys are successful, I would love to be a part of this!!!
Brandon is my wifes cousin and you could not ask for a nicer kid to take hunting. I took him up on a archery hunt and we couldnt get it done. He took a shot at a nice 2 point but shot under. I hope somone else can come through for him.
I know it is not a deer hunt, but I have some duck property that has about 110 presunk concrete blinds that we can just drive to that might be fun once we get some cold weather. Might be able to get some great shooting in for you and your boy. I am not a guide but willing to take you guys guys out for the day.
Unfortunately I am too familiar with your son's type of cancer.
Hello All,
My name is Max Fregoso and I have been sitting on the sidelines "watching" Monster Muleys forums for the past 7 years and I cannot think of a better time to jump in than now. What you guys are trying to do for this boy is great, I would like to do my part and donate $400 toward a hunt for Brandon. So if this helps any of you that may have a hunt or a tag or it can even be used for fuel, lodging etc. however you feel it should be spent is fine with me.
I would like to help but our deer hunts in northern California a now closed for the most part. If you have any questions please feel free to call 916-275-5372.

We have a possibility of 3 different hunts , we should know which one is going to work in the next couple of days...I will post what and where when it happens, Thank you to all those who have had a hand in making this happen.
Mike I Had a feeling if you knew about this deal, You could make things happen for this young man. I just drove the bus you made it all happen. Glad it will be a great deal for this young man.

Can you drop me a line? I would like to know more about this Hunt of a lifetime. Is there a chapter here in UTAH? I have checked the website, but did not see much on UTAH etc.
Or post the details up here, so everyone can get involved on donating money, old equipment, or hunts!!
Just thought I would get on here and post an update We should know by the end of the day tomorrow and I will get on here and tell you all about it. The Arizona chapter of hunt of a life time is working on it. If you go to huntofalifetime.org it says there is a Utah chapter, I have had no contact with them so I am not sure the best way to contact them.I can't wait until I can tell my son the hunt is his. Thank you to all that have offered. CANCER SUCKS......just saying..

Hunt of a life time !!!!!!!!
max_1 You the man
Well here it is because of Mike aka Lost_in_the_woods he put me in contact with Matt of Hunt of a Lifetime . And Matt has set us up with a 13A tag on the Arizona Strip. With a guide . Yea I know this is a hunt of a lifetime !!! We are heading down there on friday and yes I will post pictures and tell everybody about how it goes. I just want to give a big THANK YOU to my cousin max_1 for getting this all started and let everyone know that Lost_in_the_woods is the man. He is just getting started at making dreams come true and he could use any and all help from anyone. If you want to help other kids dreams come true please contact him. I wish others could have experienced the joy and happiness I heard from my son when I told him about this hunt.. THIS ONE IS FOR BRANDON, my son WE WILL KICK CANCER'S BUTT !!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I am glad that Hunt Of A Lifetime was able to get you probably one if the most sought after tags in Mule Deer hunting. Maybe some of that good luck will rub off that young man onto his illness. I have had several members of my family taken by cancer and I agree with quite a few on here that it SUCKS. I hope you get a big one, but more importantly I hope this youngster beats cancer cause one life lost to this terrible illness is one too many, especially one so young with their whole life ahead of them. Good luck and best wishes.

Take the time to really let it sink in and enjoy it. Remember the smells, the weather, the excitement, the staulk, the trigger pull, the high-fives, the smilse and all of the sweat and tears-----those will be what you remember long after the hunt!!!!
It has been such a pleasure to see this whole experience come together. To all of you who had a part in this experience, thank you for sharing the spirit of America and the spirit of the West. Others are only mirrors of you and the smile says it all.

Wow! What a great story, and an awesome buck for a strong young man!!! So awesome to see this come together on MM!! For everyone that helped out, ya'll are the tops of the tops!!!
Please post up the story or what magazine we can read it in when it becomes available. Also sent up a prayer for Brandon...
Great story, its great to see everyone helping out. If you have a favorite photo or two from the hunt I can have them blown up poster size 24x36 or so and sent to the boy/family. PM me with the information and I will take care of the rest.
What an awesome story. Thanks so all those who made this possible. I hope that some day I can help a kid in the way you all have. This is why I love monster Miley's. And congrats on a great buck!
This is probably the best post since I started on this site...
From start to finish, we all got to watch this amazing story unfold. I can't get over the somber scene in this photo. The juxtoposition of the balance between life and death, is brutally honest and incredibly touching. My level of respect for several individuals on this site (whom I already had respect for) has risen 10 fold. I sure hope to hear what magazine this comes out in, I will be buying it for this story alone...
Great job everybody... A lot of big hearts out there...
"Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!" 2 Ne. 28: 24
Way to go Brandon...It has been amazing watching this story unfold here on MM...To the people that made this happen you are the Best of the Best!!! To Brandon I will have you in my prayers and I know you can beat this thing...This is what life is all about when people step up and do what is in their hearts.
Diggerdan, When you know what magazine this story will be in will you let us know? I want to make sure that I get a copy as this is a story that I don't want to miss. Congrats on a successful hunt and a chance to make some lasting memories in such a trying time for you and your family.
LAST EDITED ON Nov-21-11 AT 04:25PM (MST)[p]Today I had the antlers of the public tag buck shot on antelope island in my hands. They were huge and awesome but I have to admit that the deer my son shot is twice the buck. I am a lucky guy to have a son that can find joy and happiness when everything else in life is falling apart.. all I can say is THANK YOU to all involved.
LAST EDITED ON Nov-23-11 AT 10:22PM (MST)[p]My wife was looking at me all funny as I read this thread because she could tell that my eyes were watering a bit. Of course I played it off like I had something in my eye but she isn't stupid. So I made her read it after me and she is bawling like a baby! Incredible story of not only great success for a young hunter but of the greatness of true sportsmen.
Founder can we get a Hall Of Fame Forum and make this the first inductee? This is truly one of the best threads I have ever read!
Congrats young man !!!! I bet your dad is very proud of you. Not in just taking a fine trophy buck but in the fight that you are in with your cancer. As I was with my son. My son is doing great and has been cancer free for 5 years now. Hope you and your family has a great Thanks Giving.
Just saw the KSL story on the 10pm news. Just wanted to commend the guys that made the hunt happen. Wish Brandon and his family the best. Get it whooped kid, you got a mighty big deer to try and beat in yer future.
"LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE"
I love to see such an uplifting post...so often we hunters argue and quarral over these threads on MM but when it comes to a child fighting cancer everyone pulls together and offers what they can to put a smile on this kids face. I had tears running down my face reading everyones posts because I have a terminally ill nephew and am truely blessed to know they are not forgotten. I hope and pray Brandons battle is won. Im proud to call myself a MM member with the rest of you great guys!
Brandon, Dan,
I just wanted to say thank you for letting me help on brandons deer hunt. My family and I are lucky enuff to help harvest lots of great animals every year in Arizona. This hunt was one of the best hunts we have ever helped with I will never forget the smile on brandons face when that great buck hit the ground or the dancing and yelling from dan saying YOU GOT IT....YOU GOT IT.... over and over. or the yelling and excitment from my dad and your uncle on the radio when I said the buck is down. WOW what a great hunt and a great experance.... Hope you get well soon. If you ever end up with a tag in AZ again look us up we would love to be a part of another great experence. I also want to thank my crew that went out of there way to help me fill a great kid's dream. John Woodruff, Shane Woodruff, Russ Jacoby, Carl Stubs and everyone else that helped brandons dream come true.
Thanks Chad, We could not have asked for a better group of people to share this experience with. It is amazing every time I mention the hunt or the deer to Brandon a big smile finds it's way on to his face. I will be forever grateful to you for helping make this dream come true. And you know the next time we travel south we will look you up. THANK YOU
For anybody that lives in Utah I just thought I would give you an invite to come join Brandon at a fund raiser we are having on Saturday. go to anythingforafriend.com to find out all the info. And again THANK YOU to all.
