elk hunt 2024

Looking for an elk hunt for my daughter and son-in-law for next year. They are both teachers and have the week of Oct 15 off. They both have one less than max points probably will have to do a guided hunt because of time. It will be their only elk hunt so i'am looking for the best possible help I can get any suggestions would be appreciated.

My son & I hunted with them this past October in Unit 61 from their Stuart Cr. camp. I highly recommend them. I need to get my hunt recap and pics posted up here on MM. Local deer rut is on in SE Alaska and I've got 3 tags left.

Trails West Outfitters, Area 61, horseback hunt I think.
Out West Safaris, Area 108, private land, hunting from motel, truck hunt.
Wood River Outfitters, Area 61 or 62, private land and public land.

I would talk to all three of those. Do you want a horseback hunt or truck hunt.

All three of those are going to be in the $10,000 range.

Wagonhound in Area 7 but they will be more expensive. I doubt if they kill more big bull than the other three.

Tyler Sims has some interesting elk hunts. Haven't hunted with him but he has a good rep. around our area and I know some good bulls around too.
