Elk hunting

My dad has enough pts to draw Sled Springs rifle he is 82 gets around good. Just wondering how the elk are doing and heard they close alot of the roads before season. Thanks good luck this season to everyone

Lots of private and can be steep. A map of private lands tells a good story. There are nice elk, near the big 3 units. Understandable why guys look at it....but dont commit pts. Im one of them sitting on 11 or 12 pts.

Good hunt, there are a lot of good bulls killed on it.

Agreed. that's tough country. with his points I'd go somewhere else.

It only takes 3-4 points to draw this tag. I assume you know you can draw a tag with him as a party.

I can't think of a better hunt in Oregon for an 82 year old. Lots of elk on the relatively flat timber company ground that is open to the public.
