ELK Rut

Hey guys, seems like this year the elk rut is late? I have spent 10 days in the field on 3 trips. The elk are not herded up, not calling or responding to calls. I have only seen lone elk. is anyone else experiencing this? been hunting anywhere from 9500 to 10600 elevation. what are you guys seeing?

I seen the herd bulls with cows nearly 2 weeks ago. Satellite bulls and raghorns running around them. Rut happens same time every year cause the calves are born the same time every year. If it didn't happen that way, elk as a species would not survive.

If you are in a pressured area they won't talk nearly as much.
You don't need hundreds of people for pressure, a couple hunters calling non stop and educating the elk is high pressure too.

yes, lots of people. however all the elk i have seen have been by themselves, cows, and spikes. September 1 is the only time i seen a small bull with 1 cow. I have covered lots of ground too. I have been hunting south central Wyoming.
