The Postman is that because of the kitchen scene on the table? Just sayin did you actually see the rest of the movie?

Many of those mentioned above are my favorites also. A few others I enjoy

Support your Local Sheriff
Diggstown
The Sting
Paint your Wagon
Lincoln

I forgot a few

The Departed
One flew over the cuckoos nest

There has to be Jack Nicholson and Scorsese in there somewhere.

Impossible to say one favorite for me.
Man on Fire was pretty good.
Aliens was great the first time.

#1- A river runs through it
#2- Legends of the fall

Tons of other great ones listed by you guys above

Legends of the Fall is my favorite also.....figured a few people would mention it. It takes a woodsman to understand the narrator's meaning when he mentions the "Moon of the Popping Trees".

I do like that movie. Picking a favorite is like picking a candy at See's candy.

Another good one is What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. Leonardo DiCaprio did a good job pretending he was retarded. It was hilarious. There were also some good dramatic moments with him. Like when his mom died and they gave her a Viking funeral because she was too big to get the corpse out of the house.

Lots of great movies listed above, I'll add a few to the list.

Pale Rider
The Man from Snowy River
Quigley Down Under
Remember the Titans
The General's Daughter
The Pelican Brief

I completely forgot about three must see movies. They’re from Christopher Guest.
Best in Show
A Mighty Wind
Waiting for Guffman

Being a WWII's- end kid born in 1946 and growing up in hunting camps/listening to some of my Dad's and uncles and some male teachers relate their experiences, plus reading any books I could find- my best movie choices were Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List.
