Well it's been a long drought, but I finally drew my first elk tag, after 19 years of putting in (ok, there were a couple of years in college when I didn't apply). Hopefully I take advantage!

Oops, forgot to mention that....

New Mexico, Unit 51....3rd hunt. The draw odds are pretty strong for this hunt, but it's the fourth time I put in for this relatively easy draw! Prior to that, I had been putting in for Unit 6, which then turned to Unit 6c.

We will be hunting deer in the area a few weeks prior, so hopefully I can get a feel for what the animals are doing in the area!
