First year going for mule deer. Best options?

Hey guys,

Not looking to go out in 2020 and tag a buck of a lifetime. Just wanting to get in the game somewhere. I've been hunting whitetail for 20 years, and I guess I just have the itch now.

Is there a state/season you would recommend for a guy to get his feet wet?

Thanks in advance.

Pretty much anywhere in the intermountain west will give you a chance at a mule deer. There are several hunts in CO that you can draw with zero points. NM and Idaho don't have point systems, its a totally random draw. You can buy over the counter archery tags in AZ good for all but 5 units in the state. Lots of choices. Pick one and research the heck out of it.
