I'll be in the Flattops this fall 2nd season, is a cow tag a good option or just a CPW donation? I've never set foot in there and don't really know what to expect as far as cow elk numbers.
Thanks for the input. I'm leaning towards getting a cow tag unless someone talks me out of it.Looking at the cow to bull ratios in that area you are more likely to see a cow… probably not just a donation.
What about it doesn’t seem real? A hunter has a question about hunting an area. Are the elk numbers in there so great that it should be first hand knowledge or because it’s about cows and not “monster muleys”?Is this a real post?
Yes there are a few cows in those units..... But also more hunters than the total state of Rhode island ! I personally would not set foot in that general area from Oct- November. It is a zoo and I'm surprised more people don't get accidentally shot,I'll be in the Flattops this fall 2nd season, is a cow tag a good option or just a CPW donation?
