Congrats on your draw! That is a great unit to hunt. That is a heck of a distance to have to travel to hunt too! I hope you have good success with your scouting. A 175"+ buck will be a challenge but it is realistic. I haven't been in 62 scouting specifically for deer this year. In my opinion though the best deer numbers are on the southern end of 62, down near Montrose. This area has the best winter range for them and has some nice bucks. With that being said there is a lot of private land, depending on where you go, and there are lots of roads. There are plenty of areas though that will get you off the beaten path with small canyons or draws to hunt. I always find good deer numbers in the aspens during the muzzleloader season. The oak brush always holds animals too no matter how much I hate trying to sneak through it!
The farther north you go in 62, the more rugged it gets and the roads get less common. Last season I saw good deer numbers in the Long Point, Short Point, and upper Dominguez country. That is a lot of country to look over.
Good luck and feel free to ask any more questions!
