Got Rams?

Was out scouting this morning on the west rim of the guads. It has not turned into Madmax and the thunderdome (as someone put it last year) yet, but it will.

Calling for snow in much of that country on opening day.

It wouldnt be a beautiful opening day without 100mph winds.
At least it will keep the para-planes & hang-gliders grounded
lol

heheh...ain't that the truth. Still, I didn't draw this year so I'm envious of anyone that's got a tag...

Some pretty severe weather being forcast. You guys may want to do a little wait and see.

Could get dangerous.

I went sheep huntin today, one of the guys in our huntin party harvested a 23 inch ram bout 6:45. Weather made hunting hard, visibility was limited and walking conditions dangerous! Sheep were bedding in thick cover along rock ledges and thick river beds. Our huntin party is definantely gonna wait till storm passes before next outing.

Went out yesterday. Seen 3 nice rams but the wind was not in our favor. Froze are butts off. Headed back today. Good to every body.

Went out with Wife on her tag yesterday in 30. Only went in about a mile and called it early. My thermometer right now is saying -16

Just got out of 30 for the week it was crazy we were staying in a tent. We were in a Cabelas Alaknak tent and it was getting trashed in the wind just wipping around, the stove pipe flew out middle of the night and melted some big holes in the tent, we had to try burning undamped and it still was freezing all our waters in the tent. The snow kept blowing in the little vent holes one day we drove to town and when we got back we had 3" of snow on our sleeping bags. We had to tie the tent two our wheelers on the wind side didn't sleep for 3 days should have gone home early but we drove 18 hours to get there and it is our only chance to get there. In the end we got 1 small ewe, 1 missed shot, and I didn't shoot but did see some before the storm monday before the hunt. And on friday morning but couldn't close the deal. Good luck to everybody and I hope nobody froze to death

JD, you picked a real bad time to come. Weather was better today.

My wife got her first ram this morning. I will post up some pics later.
She made a phenomenal shot after we blew the stalk on first group we saw.
Gonna work on Zach and my tag tomorrow.

Congrats Paul, you and the family are living the dream!!! We are heading down next Saturday from Aztec. My dad and I will be down for 10 days. I'm pumped to see some new country. I Haven't hunted Barbary's since the mid 80's when I was in high school and they still had huntable heards here in Unit 2. We have a couple Javalina tags and our FoxPro for the song dogs. It's going to be a blast no matter what we find! Keep us posted on you and Zach.
