Unit 21 Deer- Aldo Leopold Wilderness

So I drew unit 21 first rifle deer. I am planning on heading north from Emory pass and hunting the CDT and black Range Creat trail obviously staying in unit 21. Gonna pack in for a few days. Have seen Coues and muleys in areas near here before. Has anyone done this?

Thought on this hunt…

Go scout it before your hunt and that will answer your question if it's worth it.

Lots of wilderness in 21A so if your froggy enough you can get away from people pretty easy. It's all rough and tough in the wilderness so just be sure you're ready to pack one out how ever far you decide to walk. Good luck

Thanks man. I’ve spent a ton of time in 21. My three biggest bucks are all 21 killed bucks. I was just wanting a challenge and a chance to get away from that incessant noise of side by sides and then running all up and down the hills.
