I should be able to draw a Unit 55 3rd season deer tag this year. I'm debating on going with an outfitter because I may not be able to scout as much as I would like. Does anyone have any recommendations on outfitters for that unit?

I hunted the muzz season this year DIY and was not impressed with the size of bucks I was seeing, granted it was my first time to hunt this season and I had never set foot in the unit before, but I did look at a lot of country with my glass and doubt I saw a buck over mid 170's. Good luck

I've hunted it. Depends on what you're after. If you're wanting a good time, hope to shoot something decent - do it on your own. If you're after a big buck, get an outfitter. Not to say that it can't happen on your own, but it's big country and to not scout it, go there, and shoot a big one will be some luck involved. Just my 2 cents.
