For those who know a little bit of my history know that I had my right knee scoped a year ago last August...Well guess what?. I get to go in and have ANOTHER mri done on the same knee tonight. I was coming down a steep ridge late one afternoon while hunting in Idaho. The ground is that loose shale that rolls up under your feet like marbles...Half the time your taking a step but sliding another five feet down hill type stuff?. I got my right leg caught up under me but kept sliding and felt that all to familiar POP!. I KNEW RIGHT AWAY this was going to cause me some grief..I had waited all year to go hunting and by gosh I was going to hunt. I hunted the next three days and even helped my buddy drag his deer down to where we could load it on his quad. Believe me it's not a good thing to eat to many advil at 9000 feet (great headrush). The doctor is concerned that I tore my ACL.... I'll find out tonight!. This getting older stuff really sucks!!!!!

Best of luck with the doctors visit, hope it isn't as bad as you fear!

I feel your pain. I had my right knee scoped 14 years ago. I slipped on ice in Jan. of this year and injured my left knee. I went to my family doctor and he said he thought I just tore my mincus, that I just need to take it easy to let it heal. Well I started out my summer vollyball league in June and reinjured it. Went to a specialist in Sept. and found out that I have a tear in my acl. I also need to have 1/2 my outer mincus removed. Told my doctor that I am not having surgery until Jan. Not ruining my hunting season. So I go in on Jan,6,2005.
I wish you best of luck.

I feel your pain. I had my right knee done about 4 years ago. But it is stronger than ever now. Maybe one of these days my left knee will go out and then I'll have two strong knees again. Good luck.

BrowningMan, was that eerie or what? Our posts started out very much the same. You just hit post message first.

AZbowhntr that is really eerie. The strange part is yours was 4 years and mine 14. I think I will play the 4's in the lottery. Maybe a good oman. Looking forward to getting my left done. Getting tired of the pain.

Keith:

Sorry to hear about your pain. I like your persistance in terms of I'm going hunting no matter what. Lets pray your knee is just a minor injury and move on.

Good luck and hoping for speedy recovery. Those knees really can be a pain, literally. My favorite saying is "If you're gonna be stupid, ya gotta be tough"! I've dislocated my ankle by turning the foot 180 degrees, broke the leg in 3 places, had 5 knee surgeries, and dislocated the hip all on the right leg. Still can't admit I'm too old to backpack elk and moose, and refuse to buy an ATV. My kids admit I'm the toughest (read STUPID here) old man they know. I should buy stock in Advil.
