Hornady Match ELD

What are your thoughts on these?
Mainly for elk.

Will absolutely work as long as it is kept in the correct range for the muzzle velocity to disrupt the bullet. Very similar bullet to the eld-X

For sure as long as you are hitting your target at or around 1800 fps that bullet will have devastating terminal effects

Have several friends that use them in 6.5prc for elk, and everything else. They like them and have taken quite a few Elk. No personal experience to offer.

I think the ELD match thicker case helps hold the bullet together better. I have been shooting the 147 gr 6.5 PRC match and the 300 PRC 225 gr match bullets. After talking with the guys at Hornady I think they are thinking the same thing. The extra weight with the bullet only helps with wind drift and doesn't hurt.

i will be at 1850fps at 900 yards so I think it’ll be ok lol. I don’t plan on shooting near the far!

That’s why I love them high BC low velocity expanding bullets! They will get you way way far out there even with stubby barrels
