how soon for bears?

My friend drew a bear tag in Idaho this year, and wanted to go around April 15th. I was going to go along to film, and just see some bears. My question is would we be wasting our time that early, or will there be enough bears out to make it worth our time.

I'm wondering the same thing for spring hunt in Utah. Whats this snow doing to them? Can you even acess any of the high country? Hunts starts next week!

I was out and about last weekend and despite all this good snow were gettin there was a bear i know was out for sure. I dont think too many are yet but wont be long. i just dont think they are too far from their dens yet
