HUNTING BOOTS

I am looking for lightweight boots for october Elk & Muley hunts. Have my eyes on the Cabelas Speed Hunters for dry, warm weather.

Anyone have experience or advice on this type of boot or other manufacturers of this type of boot?

Thanks
Mark

I like Cabelas boots, have had a few different kinds from them. I like the Perfekt Hikers, All Leather Hikers and the Meindls I wear now have more than 1200 miles on them and are still going good. If you are hunting Elk in October you will want something with Goretex and perhaps some type of insulation and good ankle support. Temps can be hot but they can just as likely be cold and wet. I'd lean toward overbooting.

I'm going to try the Cabelas speed boots also. I think my wife ordered them for me for Christmas.. The only thing I'm going to add is a good pair of gaiters because the speeds aren't very high and I can't stand getting all the burrs and crap in my boots...
