Idaho Elk Calf Issues....................

Per IDFG 50% of the elk calf mortality is cougar, wolf, and bear.
Thoughts?

Nothing new... When you put the predators on a protected list and require licenses to kill them as game animals your predation goes up.
Does anyone really question what the predators eat.

I have no doubt that predators cause half of all calf mortality. I do question the 12 percent from wolves and 36 percent from mountain lions. I would think it would be vice versa.

Sounds about right to me. Went lookin for bears and wolf's today. Lots of elk, no wolf's or bears. Maybe manyana?

These are the same Idiots !! that claim Idaho deer herds are doing GREAT !! But cant figure out killing does & 2 points does Not work

and if half of the deer and elk hunters would get out and target some predators you would have more calves and fawns surviving. Something like 10% of deer and elk hunters specifically target predators
