Cali. residents you need to know about prop 70...regarding these casino's paying tax's I think it's only fair...here's the website to vote on it..... [email protected]

I agree we do need to know about it. That was the E-mail address do you have the website? We could sure use the money, its not fair they get a free ride and we watch our taxes continue to rise.

THE BIG PICTURE; AFTER CENTURYS OF PURSECUTION, KILLING,ROBBING, AND STEALING OF LAND AND LIFESTYLE.. LETS RETHINK THIS. WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM WHITEY, THE AMERICAN INDIANS HAVE PICKED THEM UP/DUSTED THEMSELVES OFF, AND BETTERED THERE PEOPLE. AFTER WHITEY (THATS ME) PLACED THEM ON CRAP PROPERTY CALL RESERVATIONS/ WE SAID OK NOW, TRY TO PROSPER--- MAKE SOMETHING OF YOURSELF. WELL THIS TOOK ALOT OF DECADES TO ACCOMPLISH, BUT THEY FINALLY FOUND A LEGAL WAY TO BETTER THERE PEOPLE. NOT ONLY THAT, THEY HAVE BEEN GENEROUS IN SPREADING THERE NEW EARNED WEALTH TO THE REST OF SOCIETY/ WITH $$$/ EDUCATIONAL GIFTS. NOW AFTER ALL THIS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE HOW THEY MUST FEEL, THEN KNOCK, KNOCK... WHOSE AT THE BACK DOOR?? WELL ITS WHITEY (THATS ME) AGAIN WANTING TAX DOLLARS. THE AMERICAN INDIAN HAS ALREADY GIVEN DEARLY.... IN THE FORM OF BLOOD,LAND,LIFESTYLE, HERITAGE, I COULD GO ON. NOW ALL THAT BEING SAID; IF THEY HAD TO PAY TAXES/ IT WOULD FALL INTO A BLACK POLITICAL BEAU. HOLE NEVER TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR.. LIKE ALOT OF TAX $$$$$. LETS CUT THESE FOLKS A BREAK.. NUFFS A NUFF.. YD.

Totally forgot this was out there but...

I completely agree they've been kick in the butt so hard they still can feel it!.....Native American's that is...my best friend is an Native American, but I disagree, they have a ton of more freedoms then "WHITY" does, many have been compensated for the ill treatment monetarily, but a business is a business...they make a ton of money from the casino's and mostly WHITY'S money...nuf said...

Yukon, IT'S CALLED LOSING A WAR!!!!. The native American lost a war to the white man and we have been paying out the nose ever since...I am sick to death of hearing all this "poor indian" talk. Our forefathers didn't do the indian any favors by catering to their concience..The American indian should have no more or no less rights then any other American. I hope they legalize gambling for everybody to own, State, private, etc... ...Not just on the reservations. We all know thats an old Indian tradition??..

Apparently you havent had a tribe/tribes try to steal a shellfish beach that has been in your family for over 100 years. They have it easy here in WA. Immune to fish and game laws, free housing, medical etc, casinos, fireworks, tax free tobacco and liquor and on and on. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for them! If they truly want to be treated right, get rid of all the "special treatment" and make them live as the rest of us do. That is the only true way to equallity. Most of the tribes that I have had personal dealings with here in WA, are not productive citizens, they are dependant on our "welfare" to get them along. It is time to stop living in the past feeling sorry for everyone and get on with progressing as a whole!
Ok, hit me hard! Haahaaaa.

Prop. 70 will make the indian casinos pay the same tax as other corporations, about 8 % of the net earnings. I believe prop. 70 will be defeated. This is due to the Gov. and most state agencies being against it and the Gov. having already gotten several of the big S.Cal. casinos agree to consider paying 20-25 % of their net earnings. This agreement also allows the indian casinos to operate on a larger scale like the Nevada casinos, in other words we are talking future figures in the billions.
Prop. 70 was fronted by the indians to get around working a deal with the Cal. Gov. and paying more taxes. I think most of the people in Cal. will go for the larger percentage, and vote against prop 70, based on the indians getting unlimited gambling consessions.
Also I believe the agreement with the Gov. has provisions concerning the enforcement control of the casinos being done by the Dept. of Justice to keep out organized crime which has already reared it's head with indian casino board members kicking out members of it's own tribe in order for the remaining members to have a bigger slice of the money pie.
The people in Nevada may have to start paying state taxes because they will lose a large percentage of the gambling taxes that go to that state, but the Nevada casino owners are backing the indians with their "big money" and will shift operations to Ca. once the casinos start drying up in Nevada.
