Hey Ridge!
That Bull in the Basin Would Score 450"+!
I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces
That's a bull you'd better shoot, instead of worrying about his score. He'll score plenty and you'll be extremely fortunate to have an opportunity to take him.
LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-18 AT 11:50AM (MST)[p]He doesn't have great width, but I'm betting his beams are at least 55 inches. He has around 17 inches past his 5th on left side and 15 inches on right side. Probably 36-37 inside spread.
I put some numbers together.
left right
15 20
18 20
16 17
18 19
10 12
55 55
132 143
132+143=275
Mass generous 58
Inside spread 37
Total 370 gross my guess.
Where am i off? I don't think he will be 380+.
Before I put a tape on that bull, I would have bet anyone an elk stake dinner that the bull would gross over 380"+.
I figured his main beams had to be in the high 50s.
I was wrong, with his narrow 35" inside spread. It made his main beams shorter than they appear. 53" & 52".
The bull ended up grossing right around 374".
Definitely a once in a lifetime general season bull.
Post #33 and #34 were on the right track.
I'm pretty sure he's the same bull I had trail cam pics. of from last year. The way his right main beam turns in is the same on both bulls each year.
I'da bet you a steak dinner he'd go 380, so good thing I didn't bet.
I'd still buy a steak dinner if you swung by Ridge!
Regardless, an awesome bull and I'd shoot him any time anywhere and be very happy.
Great post.
