Looking for a good a reputable, hard working whitetail deer outfitter in Kansas that also has good mule deer hunting. Looking to book a father son hunt in Nov for 2022.

I don't know if you are a resident or non-resident. If you are a non resident Kansas is a preference point state. To guarantee drawing a whitetail tag you will need one preference point although it's possible you could draw without any points.

If you are successful drawing a whitetail tag then you can be entered in the mule deer tag drawing. Preference points aren't considered in the mule deer drawing and you have about a 15% chance of drawing a mule deer tag. There are only 166 non-resident mule deer tags for the entire state.

There are some big mule deer in Kansas. There are some die hard mule deer hunters that attempt to draw this tag and just eat the whitetail tag fee and not hunt if they don't draw the mule deer tag.

Another point on the Kansas muzzleloader. They don’t require black powder or a black powder substitute. As long as the bullet goes down the end of the barrel it’s legal.

I saw people using custom made muzzleloaders with smokeless powder.
