Thought I would share a buck that a 13 yr old killed on my KY property back in October. The timing of the juevenile hunt is a little tough as it is just prior to the rut . However we usually do pretty good on bigger bucks on food if we can get some cooler weather. This year a mid day storm moved through and dropped the temps into th 60s for the afternoon hunt. We had pics of this buck I've the plot almost everyday but most were at night due to warmer weather. This buck along with five others, an 8, 9 and 10 along with 2 small bucks were also in the field when he shot him. I had the good fortune of getting to watch the whole thing in the double stand.
The bucks got a little nervous and busted just before the shot but did not leave the field. The kid did a great job of keeping composure, making sure he was on the right buck and dropped him before he exited the field. Taxi grossed him at 166?.
