The short game
You have herd about people saying they like to blank bale to become a better shooter. I don't think it actually works because it doesn't deal with how your mind sees the target. I believe you need to see your sight movement, target and get a feel of how you squeeze your release all at the same time. Shooting close will build up your self confidence quick. You still need to work on your form like you would with blank bail shooting though.
This is what I do for practice give it a try it will surprise you on how well it works
I like to shoot close say 10 yards. I take a target and practice a full Vegas score. At this distance you can connect on every shot. Keep practicing this way for a few weeks. You need to see your arrow hit the dot every time. Don?t go out and check to see how you do at 20 yet! After you have done this for a few weeks move the target back to say 15 yards. This will allow you to see more movement in your sight. Shoot this for a few weeks also. Once again don't go to 20 yards yet. When you have shot like this for a few weeks you can then go out to 20 yards. You will notice your scores will have gone up.
You might also notice you can set up a close range target range in your garage. You can check your pins without having to go out and shoot longer distances also. This is because your arrows flight has to cross the line of sight twice. Anyway this is how I practice when I don't want to go out and shoot in the rain or wind. I also like to check these distances because in a tournament you will have several shots at close range. These targets are a gimme if you have practiced them. Most people don't know how to shoot these targets so you will gain points fast.
