License for application

In the past when doing the hunt applications, before you could apply for hunts it would either say that your license was current or it was expired and then make you purchase one before letting you choose hunts. Yesterday I did hunt applications for two friends. It let me choose all their hunts without buying a license. I was certain that their licenses would have been expired this late in the draw season. Did something change or did they both really apply on the last couple days of the application period last year?

Nothing changed that I saw, it knew my license was good and said so.

It let me pick hunts and pay. I printed a receipt showing which hunts and payment. If their license is expired I doubt it would let me get that far.

They probably applied very late last year making their license still valid at the time you applied for them this year.
You can also look up their current license if you got to their profile and it will tell you the exact date it expires.

I had to buy them for my wife and one of my daughters so I know they're still required to make application.

On one of the first pages You Click on if You read it,it says 'You Have a Current License'

I don't remember seeing that.....I also don't remember what I had for breakfast

yep - if you were able to complete the application process, then they had a valid license. The system will not let you finish if you don't have a valid license without either purchasing a new license as part of the current transaction or leaving the application and purchasing a license and then coming back to apply.
