I agree with many of your assertions, but not all. Regardless, the conclusion appears to be that one party has been bad while the other has not. It seems clear to me that both have made many mistakes, yet we live in a world where folks who have adopted either party as their identify cannot bring themselves to acknowledge the missteps of their own clan for fear that it will somehow embolden the other. And so they adopt the practice of defending their own mistakes by weighing them agains the misdeeds of the other--even preparing exhaustive lists of the latter so that any criticism of their preferred party somehow requires the defense of the other.

This is completely illogical. It is OK to point out the faults of both parties, candidates, etc. and failure to do so indicates clear bias and, more importantly, ensures that such failures will only increase rather than decrease. Since when did mature Americans agree not to hold the guilty responsible?

I would rather not engage in some bird walk intended to skirt the issue which, for the moment, is the Raid on Mar a Lago. There is no doubt that some would use this opportunity to embarrass the former President but, for now, I am aware of no evidence to suggest this has been the case here. There is, however, evidence that DJT possessed classified information and did not provide adequate protection to same. It is true that he may have declassified this information (no evidence yet to suggest he did), but even this may not excuse him since the law requires not just that he protect classified information, but that he protect the country--by ensuring, for example, that sensitive information remain classified and so avoid falling into the hands of adversaries.

This appear to be a pretty straightforward example of a mistake by the President. He should put on his big boy pants and suck it up. Then, the rest of us can quite arguing over the obvious and look to other examples of failure by our elected representatives to correct.

Bullskin, for a guy not wanting to take the birdwalk, you failed. Why are you ignoring the information that the Gov. officials requested a second lock on the door where the files were stored and Trump's people complied with that request.
You have also ignored the information that files were de-classified and the raid was a over reach by the Biden admin. to prevent Trump from running in 2024. The Biden admin. have lied so many times to the people that they are the ones that need to prove it being fact on anything they say.

The DOJ under Loretta Lynch & the FBI under Comey said that Hillary had classified, super top secret classified docs on several unsecured personal servers in her home & elsewhere. Comey also said that the server(s) was likely hacked by bad foreign actors. If he admitted that, it means they know she was hacked.

We know that Loretta Lynch asked Comey to characterize it as a "matter" and not an "investigation" - And we know that Peter Strozk, yeah that Strozk changed the wording in Comey's earlier draft of his big 16 min. speech at the podium from the key words "gross negligence" to "extremely careless" According to the statute gross negligence is a crime even without intent. So he laid out all the reasons how and why she broke the law and at the end said "no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case"

Orange man documents are hard copies in a secure locked location and not electronically hackable. His lawyers were negotiating for their release. Did he delete them, set them on fire, destroy them (like with a hammer or cloth) maybe bleach bit them, hide them? So Hillary can destroy classified docs with bleach bit and hammers and that not be considered intent, just extremely careless? They have to prove some kind of intent. Negotiating and cooperating with them seems like a major stretch.

The warrant allows them to collect every single document from the day he took office to the day he left office. If you don't see that as a major overreach and a violation of his 4th amendment maybe you should get a seeing eye dog. This is a giant fishing information gathering expedition & exploitation in search of a crime. Perhaps they are so vindictive they are thinking they will get him, for the crime that they let Hillary off of. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm fine with live and let live but they seem intent on burning themselves down whereby nobody trusts them

PS. The case against Trump could be a slam dunk for either the FBI or Trump, depending on what documents he had. Neither you nor I know the contents of those boxes and what was classified, declassified, or Top Secret.

Maybe, but Trump's lawyers also said the election was stolen, that Pence could change the outcome of the election, that Dominion conspired with Venezuela, and that any day they'd finally release the evidence they've claimed to have for years but won't give anybody (including the courts that dismissed all their cases due to lack of evidence)... among other lies.

Forgive us if we're skeptical about what Trump's lawyers say.

Since no one is allowed to look into the stolen election some of us find that suspicious.

Why did over 50 deep state operatives sign a letter stating the the Hunter Biden Lap top was Russian disinformation? This is a branch of the government meddling in an election. Why was the Obama administration allowed to weaponize the DOJ to investigate an opposing political parties presidential nominee in 2016. It is not far fetched to have doubts about the 2020 election.

Was there really a water main break in Georgia? Why did Ruby Freeman grab suitcases of ballots that had been hid below a table all day as soon as everyone else was sent home for the night? It is all on video. Then run them through the ballot counting machines multiple times that night in Georgia?

Republicans and conservatives get raided, parents get labeled terrorist and get targeted for standing up to school boards. It is obvious that the FBI and DOJ have been weaponized as an arm of the Democrats party They have lied to the FISA court, spied on a presidential campaign, agents have texted other agents and said they have a plan to stop a candidate from becoming president. Yet nothing has been done.

This can't be a serious post from somebody that has convicted every Democrat and exonerated Trump at every turn. Regardless of the evidence or lack thereof.

I've said at every turn that I have no clue if Trump is guilty or not, I haven't seen the evidence. And nether have you.

I'll put that morality up against those declaring the FBI is the gestapo, that Biden is Stalin, that evidence was planted, etc... all day, every day.

Government officials not only asked that Trump do more to protect his trove, they also asked that he return all classified information. He should have done so. I do not see the problem with either request, and believe that "the government" was correct to retrieve any such info once it became clear that Trump had not met the terms of his subpoena.

I have not ignored the question of declassification. In fact, I made the point that even if these sensitive docs had been declassified by Trump before their removal, that does not make America any safer. Declassification might relieve Trump of his legal jeopardy, but it makes the very information we are trying to protect available to anyone who wants it. The law and his oath require not only that he not expose classified information, but that he not reveal information, of whatever sort, harmful to the country and helpful to our adversaries. Stupid move by the former President, either way.

Finally, your comments excusing the issue on the grounds that the Biden administration is corrupt does nothing to address the error discussed here, and constitutes the very bird-walk I referred to. As for the DOJ proving their case, I believe that is exactly what they have set out to do. Its is funny how those who demand they prove their case also insist that they not be permitted to investigate. Time will tell where the facts lie.

Orange man documents are hard copies in a secure locked location and not electronically hackable. His lawyers were negotiating for their release. Did he delete them, set them on fire, destroy them (like with a hammer or cloth) maybe bleach bit them, hide them? So Hillary can destroy classified docs with bleach bit and hammers and that not be considered intent, just extremely careless? They have to prove some kind of intent. Negotiating and cooperating with them seems like a major stretch.

The warrant allows them to collect every single document from the day he took office to the day he left office. If you don't see that as a major overreach and a violation of his 4th amendment maybe you should get a seeing eye dog. This is a giant fishing information gathering expedition & exploitation in search of a crime. Perhaps they are so vindictive they are thinking they will get him, for the crime that they let Hillary off of. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm fine with live and let live but they seem intent on burning themselves down whereby nobody trusts them

If you are arguing that Clinton's action was worse than Trump's, I will not disagree. If you are aguing that Trump is therefore excused, then I take issue. As for the fishing expedition, the warden has already found a few poached bass, and I have no problem with him getting a warrant to check the entire boat.

Please explain what you mean when you say "no one is allowed to look into the stolen election." There have been dozens of investigations and cases brought to court, and none change the fact that Biden was elected. Most have been tossed for lack of evidence, and more than one lawyers will likely lose his/her license for blatant dishonesty. Others simply prove that Biden won--and often by a larger margin than reported by state officials.

Do any of you remember that the Obama administration used our intelligence community to spy on his fellow americans and Trump ILLEGALLY while unmasking thousamds of other Americans and launching an illegal investigation against a newly elected president. An operation that completely consumed their liberal media coomentators on every damn newscast over the mans entire term. They were also found to be spying on members of congress and the media that weren't part of their propaganda machine or complicit voting blocs. This isn't conjecture or supposition it's proven fact and they swept the whole damn mess under the carpet and used their COMPLICIT MEDIA to hide it from you. Think not show me the headlines on the Washington Post or the New York Times to prove me wrong! You can't!

For some reason we didn't get the same TV coverage associated with their misdeeds that we did for Trumps 24/7/365. We didn't get coverage about the FBI committing fraud and the DOJ playing along as Mueller and his crew of thugs that were creating and fueling a narrative about Trumps guilt and endless collusion. We didn't get coverage about a sitting FBI director and his replacement being complicit in the plot along with countless agents and out side consulting firms funded with taxpayer dollars.

I could belabor this to expand on the level of complicity, but the naysayers on here simply can't believe it because their friends in the hightly news didn't bother to share the details with them at dinner time for some reason. Hmm it just wasn't on the "party sanctioned talking points or wasn't a Trump bombshell so it didn't matter.

Still think you're not being indoctrinated by the Party?? In a society with a fair press and open dialoge many of these events would have stopped the PARTY IN IT'S TRACKS instead of finding its resting place in the worlds biggest secret dumpster.

Our goverment only works when the constitution and the checks and balances our founders gave us are all working to allow us to retain control of our country. Right now, we the people aren't in control and Washington and many forms of states governance have simply abused the powers of their offices to place our republic and our freedoms in jeopardy. It's time to take your republic back before it's too late.

One other thing with everything you're being told being censored, cleansed, and rewritten to fit the party politic's agenda what do you think the odds are a they may have hidden a few things from you about our last election. Think they may have created an illusion for you since they're really in control?

Unmonitored ballot boxes sitting out in public seems a little insecure to me but then I digress...........Just another example of how we've lost control of our laws and processes. But in all honesty what can one expect in a society where they're allowing smash & grabs, peaceful burning of peoples property and no bail or jail enforcement criminality legal process, it's just part of the day to day.....

Almost everybody Trump has ever appointed has turned on him. From AG's to VP, it doesn't take long for an honorable man to figure it out and stand up for truth and the Constitution. About that time is when Trump starts attacking them as weak, coward, RINO, deep state, etc...

If they really wanted to understand they could find better sources of information than Alex Jones. Many boycott those who delve into both sides of the story because they really don't care to see their pre-conceived notions destroyed. Consider how many here refused to hear the testimony of those directly involved in the recounts, who went to the wall defending the Arizona recount, and who are still waiting to hear Giuliani's, Powell's and the My Pillow Guy's "conclusive and damning" evidence.

2nd: I voted for him and was thrilled to see him beat Clinton. Even a bad conservative is better than any liberal. If he does run again, and he wins the nomination, I will swallow hard and vote for him.

As for the FBI raid- something seems incredibly wrong here. I don’t doubt he had secret documents in his possession- classified or de-classified or whatever. The problem is this: he was the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. How in the world does the FBI believe the president is going to misuse US secrets? The rules are meant to keep secrets from our enemies. Do they actually believe he was going to do that?

So in any non-political FBI, if they had concerns about documents an ex-president may have, it seems they would simply go to him and ask. “Hey- do you have these documents? Can we have them back? No? OK, can we make sure they are secure sir?” Or something like that. NO WAY do they raid his place. It’s pure politics, unless…

Now, if he was actually abusing information to the detriment of the country, I’ll take it back. But if the whole thing is simply over possession of the documents, I am finished trusting the FBI. It would be PURE political grand standing. Like it or not, presidents are (should be) treated differently, and for good reasons.

Honestly, at this point, I hope to God that Trump was actually doing something terribly bad with the information, and the FBI knew it, and the raid was part of a much, much grander issue. Not some stupid, made-up Russian conspiracy thing, but an actual selling-out of the country. Because if it isn’t, the country will be split in two. I’m so worried we are approaching that point.
 
Justice dept went thru the legal avenues first. Subpoenaed these documents this past spring, no compliance. Trump forced their hand. Comply then, and no raid. Of course not complying and having the fbi raid your place is great political theater and knows it will stir up his base (like you see here on this thread), ahead of a midterm election and on the cusp of announcing another presidential bid. The story keeps changing from witch hunt and hoaxes, to fbi planted these documents, Barack Obama did it too but way worse, to ya I took them but all were declassified. Go from lying about it at the start, then to ok I did it but but but…..
so which story is it? The lies and/or the truth keeps changing. Also, pleading the 5th, well we know why a person does that. This guy runs his supporters around in circles, and you eat up every new twist and turn and contradicting story that crosses his mouth, why? How many truths can there be? I just don’t get the infatuation with one man, especially by grown adult men and women. Isn’t this country bigger than one person?

If you can’t indict at least you can shame, embarrasses, discredit, create distrust, create the belief that he’s still guilty but too sneaky and too slipper to convict. All you have to do is read what they’ve called and said about him ever time after the last 50 allegations, and be damned if it isn’t still working.

Name one person that’s changed their mine about Trump……..

I had hoped that it would‘nt just be a fundraising slogan to get the disenfrachised to fund his charade. Turns out trump was the presidential equivalent of a space chimp trying to pull the levers of goobermint.

Ya, you are probably correct. Even though I'm no fan of Trump, if it goes down as simply having the docs, knowing how they approached it, I'll end up supporting the bad orange man just to spite them. So it may well end up changing some minds.

I don't think the election was stolen. I don't think there are vast conspiracies. Congress and Jan 6- who wouldn't have expected that. It's a political body, so it acts that way. Reps and Dems both behave like idiots. I don't care who appointed who, BTW. Rep presidents appointed supreme court justices that turned out to be liberal. It's just part of what happens in the real world.

My point is simply that if all the DOJ has is some documents he kept, with no nefarious motives, then I'm convinced it was political, all the way to the top. Unlike the Russian crap which was low-level haters of Trump. That was just life in the real world.

Again- if he was selling out the US- planning or doing, I'm good with their actions. Otherwise, it's political, and the DOJ being political is as bad as it can get.

My gut has nothing to do with it. It's pretty simple logic.

As far as "FBI just doing their job": I don't blame the agents who executed the search warrant. Indeed, they were just doing their jobs. I'm not concerned about the judge- just doing his job. If Garland has some huge issue with what Trump is doing with the docs, OK. But if not, it's bad. Whether you like it or not, it won't end well for the country. And when you are in a top position, you better think about how bad something is before you act. I hope it was really, really bad. Otherwise, the trusted guts of rabid Trump supporters will affect us all. And with a little logic backing them up this time, to boot.

But...... presto right before your eyes we have politicians being elected who refuse to enforce our laws and drop charges against the criminal element in our society. Where does it say they can refuse to enforce our laws in the constitution? It does allow for laws to be changed but not unilateral evasion of their enforcement. Yes our legal process does give some measure of descretion in the process where applicable, but that is being abused to the detriment of society.

The first step of erosion in any society is the lack of law enforcement and willing disregard for its enforcement. The wild west was wild until they started to enact and enforce laws and this country passed that mile marker decades ago. So why the change now?

It would seem the FBI and justice department could have actually come up with some realistic charges before they made the critical error of an ad hoc legal process just like they wouldn't do in most other warrants. See a pattern here? Show me the man and we'll find the crime eventually.

Besides all this useless banter about Trump hired all of them is complete BS especially today when they can't verify anything on most folks of they can get sued. I'm fairly certain none of them confessed about loathing the guy and not wanting to get the job on their resume. After all he was dealing with the worlds foremost law enforcement operation who did back ground checks on every single employee they hired.......LOL So it would seem they had the inside information on every employee they had and their own internal processes should have disclosed any probelm areas. After all they were entrusted with safe guarding national secrets and other classified material. With Trump being an outsider how could he possibly have the connections to ferret out those loyal to the party politic.

The one thing I AGREE with is Trump may not be the best choice to lead our country in the future. I think he'll be looking for his pound of flesh and we'll just be in for more of the same. That doesn't mean I wouldn't vote for him if the nominee of the party.

But conversely........all those church going righteous traitors that brought this plague to us, have a million times more to hide and need to keep that from the american public at all costs to try to save the party politic and all it's complicit comrades.

No sacrifice is too great or crime too evil to cover up the deeds and actions of the cabal in trying to hide their actions. In fact, come to think of it, aren't many of the guilty employed by their complicit media propaganda machine, on tv daily still promoting the party line........hmm see a pattern here? Their desperation is clearly showing and they've pulverized this dead horse many times over. The fact they simply won't just let it go away shows they're clearly hiding something and working overtime to make it go away!

It used to be when you lost a job for disloyalty to our country you lived out your days in infamy not living the good life with a fat TV contract as a paid consultant. Isn't that something to ponder.........but then times are a changin and so are our newly instilled values by the party politic,,,,,hmmm

My actual worry is about reasonable people thinking that the country can no longer stay as one. Those people aren't going to bomb things, burn things, assassinate people. They may be rabid supporters of Trump, but they aren't going to burn things down. No, those people are going to say we must separate, as the divide is too large. When the very people who are to apply justice equally to all appear to be political, it becomes a multiplier to the already large gap that exists in the country.

Don't pretend it is one sided, as you stated in your earlier post. I can't count the number of lefties who claimed they would leave the country or renounce their citizenship because of... wait for it... Bush! Really? Trump? OMG!

The difference is that the right does not want to renounce the country. They simply want it back. That was the genius behind Trump's MAGA movement. I feel he is not genuine, but far better than the left.

That said- it would be nice if there were some middle ground. Sure is hard to find these days. I'm sorry you have a hard time grasping that.
