mn. bear scents

I'm trying for bear this year for the first time and would like some input. I plan on using scents and perhaps try calling. I don't what to deal with baiting so i'm looking for advice on which scents have worked for others and a good source for them. Also anybody done well with calling? I'll be hunting in mid Sept. Thanks for the help

From my buddies in Washington they say calling works best in spring but I imagine that it would still workin fall .
Maybe try to give others an Idea of where and what habitat you will be able to hunt in.

i will be hunting in extreme n.e. Mn. which is big woods with lots of lakes and streams. Natural food ares hazelnut, berries and what ever animals the bear might come by from moose to mice.
