I hunted Eastern Montana for my 2nd muley hunt and had a great time out there. I was hunting a public land area that looked promising last fall but according to one game dept officer that I spoke with the area was hit pretty hard with tons of snow last winter and they lost alot of deer. So we didn't see the numbers or bigger bucks that we were hoping for. Either that or we were just not looking in the right places for them!! Had alot of fun glassing and hiking around some beautiful country though and the company was great as well. I managed to knock down a decent buck that was larger than my first buck last year so I was very happy with that. Can't wait to go back again...
I didn't get an opportunity to hunt Minnesota much during the rifle season due to being in Montana so I decided to hunt the late muzzleloader season. Bought an Austin & Halleck smokepole this fall and on my 3rd day took this buck at about 25 yards. It was a nice end to the season so it's onto some late season pheasant hunting...
