Ok, I have a good problem to have and need advice. I won a matching set of Ruger Vaqueros last night at our Friends of the NRA banquet. They are the NRA gun of the year.
Now to my problem. I have never been one to not shoot a gun. I figured that they were made to be shot. But I don't know what to do.
The other part of the problem is that on the game they were won on, me and my dad both put in $50.00 on the ticket. We will not break the set up, we both said we would keep them together but shoot them together. Then, the FFL dealer that was at the banquet told us we could sell them on Ebay for several thousand dollars.

So now, what do we do? Sell them, shoot them, or just hold on to them?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-09 AT 09:58PM (MST)[p]I know! Have a duel with them and the winner gets to keep the set! j/k

Here's a listing where the set didn't sell at $2500.

I wouldn't think you can sell newer type guns on Ebay... but i could be wrong. If you don't really need to sell or shoot them, i wouldn't. If your Dad want's to shoot them, shoot them, but also, take care of them! Nice guns!!!

Edit; here's another set, this one a matched NRA set, that is being offered at $1700.

good luck!

Most of those special run limited edition guns do not have as much collector appeal as you may think they do. Generally, at least on the NRA run stuff, they are not going to sell for much more than the actual retail value of the same general production gun, if any more at all. The market is pretty much flooded with these 'special run' guns. I'd shoot them and enjoy them. If they don't appeal to you as keepers and shooters sell them but don't expect a huge pay off. The way I see it, you can't have too many guns so I'd keep them or trade them for something I would like. Like others have already pointed out, go watch a few auctions for similar guns on gunbroker or auction arms and see for yourself. Either way you made out like a bandit for 50 bucks.

Hey guys, thanks for the help!
As stated, I am not one to sit on a gun. We do want to keep them together so I guess we will just shoot them together. Since I have to fill out the paper work, they can stay at my house, possession being 10/10th of the law! lol.

Sage,
That is a good suggestion but I think the blood might lower the value since neither of us are famous. lol

Did that FFL check out the "gun section" on Fleabay befor he told you that. LMFAO
