need some advice on cow elk tag

I drew a cow elk tag on East Canyon Summit. I don't think there is any public ground to hunt. There is also extra tags for this unit.
Is there any advice anyone can give me to get some access into this unit? I've never hunted elk before. It's a late hunt that runs from Nov 19th til Jan 31st. Guess I'll have to contact some landowners.
I just need some direction on the situation.

Yea, tough area. My kids drew the hunt west of there, lots more open land.

Go by the BLM office in Salt Lake and buy the BLM map(s) for the area. They will show you exactly what is private and what is public.

If you an contact land owners then you'll probably find something. but like was already said, the best thing you can do is #1 get a good map #2 do some scouting. #3 shoot, eat and enjoy!

Landowners are not cool up there screwed up one year and put in for it talked to em and couldnt get them to let me go. So good luck maybe bribe em with some money.
