LAST EDITED ON Sep-08-17 AT 06:07PM (MST)[p]I have a good friend who just won the hunt of his life. He is a disabled vet. who has just retired and was selected for a late season rifle 27 tag. Scheduled for Dec.I believe the tag was donated from AZ game and fish to NM for a vet and he was selected. Don't know much on the details but he is beyond excited, as we all are. What I'm asking is for recommendations on guys who may be intrested in helping with horses, suggestions,or guides that come highly recommended for the unit. We will try and scout for him but between myself and another good buddy we have a late archery tag in NM and a late muzzy tag as well scheduled in Nov. Any advise on who to call or anyone intrested in helping out let me know. Thank you in advance. I will have him check this page for updates as to get back to anyone who posts.

Most of the hunts given to vets the hunts for hero's gets guides to help out. Might wanna check and see which group got the tag when it was donated and see if they have plans for guides. Nearly every hunt gets people to help.

I'll advise him to contact game and fish and see but I would assume he would have brought that up. Thank you for the info I'll let ya know.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-01-17 AT 10:45AM (MST)[p]Hey guys we are still looking for some help. We have gotten ahold of a few outfitters but all have been booked during this hunt. Any recommendations on who else we may call that may be available? Game and fish was called and they stated that since the tag was a donation they do not provide any other services.

Get in touch with Lv2hnt (Tom) over at coueswhitetail.com . Tom helps organize the Hunts for Heros, and there is a good crowd of AZ folks over there that have been willing to jump-in and support veterans time and time again.

PM me if you want more info, else contact Tom or post this request on the forum over there. I think you'll get some good help there.

Good luck!

Thank you both for reaching out. It was nice talking to you Tom. Sorry for the confusion on the tag but all is well. Hopefully we can get him taken care of and have a great hunt. For anyone who's been following I apologize for the confusion on the tag. Here's the deal. An Az resident drew the tag and was not able to go on the hunt. He donated it back. a non profit organization was given the tag and They awarded this tag to my buddy who is a disabled vet. Hope this clears up any confusion.
