New Mexico Unit 10

I drew a New Mexico rifle deer tag Oct29th-Nov2nd in unit 10 New Mexico. I'm going to take a scouting trip next week. I want to travel on some of the roads. I know there is lots of checkerboard private, and I can't hunt the Indian reservation land. I'm not looking to get anyone's hunting area location. Can anyone with some knowledge of the unit please PM me about the network of roads? Do the roads get really impassible when it rains. I'm curious to know if they lock some of the forest service road gates in late Oct- November ? Thanks in advance

My 10yr old son drew the later deer tag in Unit 10 on the youth hunt this year. Would love to connect about what you find out. We live too far to do any boots on the ground scouting before the hunt

Anyone know if mcgaffey lake in unit 10 New Mexico is still dry? Thanks

New Mexico is currently not dry. It rained ALL last week and is supposed to rain again this weekend. Can't help with Unit 10 sorry.
