Pretty cool video - some SMOKER bulls on there. Congrats to Ruth on great 300 yard one-shot one kill. That is a SUPER cool bull - very unique and will make a beautiful mount.
So NOW that the mandatory (and well deserved) congratulations are over....let the pot stirring begin.
Loved that big bull she missed on the first time - in the voice over the narrator congratulates her on not taking a second "unethical shot." I do too...
BUT - and I know the camera angle is not the same angle she has so we really can't tell what she sees - how many of us here would have risked a more difficult shot when he froze the second time?? What if all you had was a good old so-called "Texas Heart Shot"?
I would like to say that I would have waited it out like her, but my instincts (and maybe the echo of my dad's voice) were telling me as I watched that video "Jack another one in and drill that big SOB!!" In all honesty, I am not sure I could have held my restraint like she did. Could be my lack of experience talking, or just my over-blown competetive ego, and maybe I am not as ethical as I really say - but I think I take whatever shot I have at that point and hope for the best!
So what would you have done?
Also - if you were her guide and she did take another less ethical shot, wounded the bull and resulted in some tracking work - what would you think/feel about it? Would love to hear your opinions on it too.
