NM Unit 34

Well, I drew out on muzzleloader. I have never hunted in this unit but chose it on a recommendation. (the anticipation was killing me as I saw the CC was dinged so I called this afternoon and got a very friendly customer service agent.) Any suggestions? Good luck to everyone in the draws.

I drew the Oct.2-6 bull hunt. I have heard the population is pretty strong in this unit. Have you hunted this unit before?

Hunt the ridge tops, stay as far away (as is possible in 34) from motorized trails. Look for wallows and elk trails leading to water. You should do well.

i drew the same tag. a guy i work with has hunted this unit before so hopefully i can help. i will get with him later and go over the maps and let you know what we find. i plan on scouting as we get closer but not sure exactly when.
