Bucks will sometimes shed early if they’re injured or sick, but he looks perfectly healthy to me. Looks like he just never grew them. I’ve heard of a handful of bucks like this. He’d be a good one to take out on a doe hunt, although I don’t know of any doe hunts on the books.
How about two spike bucks, with hind legs pawing........ thats epic....... that’s what I’ve been seeing for 30 years, another 30 and it could be two bucks with no antlers. Like I said, what do bucks need antlers for, now days? Nobody believes in managing mule deer under any thing that resembles the natural selection process. Utah manages for 5 inch antlered bucks.
